Emile Heskey enjoyed going through a successful time as a player for the Australian League club Newcastle Jets as the English forward was a consistent goal-scorer during his debut season with the club that he joined on September 21 of 2012.
After going through an impressive campaign with the Newcastle Jets where Heskey was even nominated for the Jet’s Player of the Year award but in the next season things were a completely different story as Heskey only scored once in 19 appearances and the English forward decided to leave the club in an effort to join an English side.
The veteran attacker joined Bolton Wanderers but has only been training with the squad of Neil Lennon and now the Championship club is expected to make a decision as to whether or not offer the Englishman a short-term contract by Christmas.
“He will have 10 days to two weeks’ training with us and we will assess him from there. There is no pressure on us or Emile. He is away for a few days because he is a club ambassador with Leicester. That will give him time to have a break and then come back again. Hopefully, we will have made a decision by then.” Neil Lennon said as he revealed details concerning the current situation of Emile Heskey at Bolton Wanderers.
The future of Heskey in the Championship League club will depend if he is able to prove his worth as the player is 36 years old and is going to have to train and play at the same level or maybe even better than his teammates in order to demonstrate Neil Lennon that he still has a lot more left to offer even at his elevated age.
