NEWCASTLE UNITED PLAYER HAILED IN BOLTON

Published / by index

Bolton Wanderers are seeking a promotion to the English Championship this term and Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi joined on loan to help them achieve their aim.

The assistant manager of the Trotters, Steve Parkin has said that Ameobi can fulfill his talent at the club if he remains hardworking during trainings.

Ameobi has made 12 appearances in the League One this season. He has made seven starts, scoring two times. The 24-year old is in the final year of his deal with Newcastle United. He has been playing as a substitute for a long time. More than half of his 110 appearances have been as a substitute.

Parkin has said that the player, a younger brother of former Newcastle star Shola Ameobi, can prove himself at Lancashire as he desires consistency.

“The lad is a talent, there’s no doubt about that. He just needs a run in the team and to be given a chance. I think we’ve done that for him.

“We’ve reiterated to him in training how important it is to work on his fitness so he can play full games, or certainly 70 or 80 minutes. He’s worked really hard at that,” Parkin said. Continue reading

He said that he still spend times on the pitch to train the players, and he keeps looking at the match videos to find out what they can improve in the team.

The players said that they are enjoying their game at the moment and that they are working hard in training for that. Wheater stated that the players are fully focused on the task and that they are following the instructions given by the manager.

Neil Lennon surprised about his exit from Bolton

Published / by index

Neil Lennon hadn’t thought his reign at Bolton would unfold like it unfolded.

The task Lennon was assigned first up was to ensure that the team does not suffer a drop and with that, he was promised that the funds would be supplied for the business in the summer.

Lennon, as he says, had no reason not to believe that because he had seen limitless money getting used for inessential resources at the club and he could never have thought that one event would suddenly cause a huge scarcity of cash.

But, it happened and it happened because of the illness of club president. That illness just changed the whole complexion of the club. Forget any new players, forget any more funds, the manager was given the message that the costs had to be cut down, the players had to be sold. All his steps should be aimed at reducing the expenditure. Continue reading

Bolton Wanderers Awaits A New Boss

Published / by index

Bolton Wanderers are in the news for the skills of some of its best players.

Even if they are not currently with the team, they are definitely in demand. Alan Stubbs, a former player of Bolton Wanderers, is being considered to become the boss of Blackburn Rovers. Being considered for a managerial position surely deems well for this former player. Rovers have been considering several successors for the managerial position which would be vacated by Paul Lambert. Stubs, who is currently managing Hibs, is also being considered for the position.

The Wanderers are also looking for a new boss. They have appointed Jimmy Philips as the interim manager since the month of March. Stubbs has put in about 202 appearances for the Whites team. He scored about nine goals in the period between 1990 and 1996. He also had stints with clubs like Derby County, Sunderland, Everton and Celtic. He has been appointed with Hibernian from the year 2014. Having guided the Edinburgh team to second as well as third places in Scottish Championship, it can be counted as one of his achievements. Bolton boss wants to win game at Derby

Published / by index

Bolton boss, Jimmy Phillips has stated that his team needs to win at Derby County to repay supporters the trust they have placed in the team. Indeed, Bolton has failed to win away from home so far this season and will be keen to change these statistics before the season is over.

The four wins this season for Bolton has been at home while they have drawn or lost all their matches away from home.

Jimmy Phillips declared that their fans have been fantastic all season even on the travels and that he want to repay them this trust by winning, at least, a match. He believes that the threat of relegation will not affect his team and that they will be able to put in a strong performance away from home.

The Bolton boss believes that his players are professional enough and that they should be able to handle pressure even in a packed stadium at Derby.

The club is currently 22nd in the table and 17 points from safety. With relegation almost a certainty, the team will want to put its current financial worries behind them and ensure that they prepare the next season in the best possible way. Whether Phillips will be on the team, next season remains to be seen but the club will want to get promoted back at the end of the season. Continue reading

Supporters of Arsenal are dissapointed by the underwhelming summer transfer window of Wenger

Published / by index

Arsene Wenger only signed 1 outfield first-team player and that was Petr Cech who completed his move from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates Stadium in the summer for a transfer fee of €11 million.

Arsenal was linked with a number of high profile players including : Karim Benzema and Edinson Cavani just to name a few of them but the Premier League club never managed to sign any of them as Wenger had a fairly dry transfer window.

The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust is the official supporters’ trust of Arsenal Football Club and they aren’t happy about the transfer activities that the Premier League club made during the summer. The group has been so dissatisfied by the lack of signings that they have suggested to Arsenal that they should review their transfer policy.

The AST expressed their discomfort by using social media as the group posted a statement on their twitter account which read: “Arsenal is in a strong financial position and it is of course disappointing that the transfer window has closed with just the signing of Petr Cech. Arsenal have built a strong squad and just one or two more good additions would have strengthened the chances of winning a first title in 11 years.

“A review of this type is a good governance practice and can only help Arsenal to become a stronger club. The AST will be raising this with the Arsenal board.” Continue reading

The first managerial season of Garry Monk at Swansea City was impeccable

Published / by index

Garry Monk’s first season in charge of Swansea City has been nothing short from amazing as the Premier League club ended the season at the 8th spot of the Premier League which is the highest ever for the club which is located at the Liberty Stadium.

Following the sacking of Michael Laudrup, not a single player or a fan of the club had imagined that going through such an impressive season was going to be possible but it happened and it was with Garry Monk at the head of it all.

Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho has already been named as the best manager of the Premier League of this past season as the Portuguese coach was able to push his team to an unbeaten streak of 16 games as well as guide comfortably Chelsea to the Premier League title.

Those are a few of the reasons on why Mourinho was selected as the best coach of this recently concluded season in the Premier League but Garry Monk was a huge contender on snatching this individual award.

This season was a historic one for both Garry Monk and Swansea City; this is due to a variety of things that were accomplished.

The first reason is due to Swansea City’s sublime start of the season where they managed to defeat Manchester United, Burnley and West Bromwich Albion in successive fashion as Garry Monk and his team collected 9 points from the possible 9 out of the 3 opening matches of their campaign.

Bringing back the Korean midfielder Ki Sung-yueng was a decision that proved to be a masterful one as the player was even awarded with the Supporters’ Player of the Season thanks to the contributions that he has made to Swansea City in this season that reached its end only a few days ago.

With a sum of 56 points, this Swansea team has the highest amount of points secured in a single Premier League season and even though Swansea City finished their campaign by losing 1-0 against Crystal Palace, Garry Monk is well aware that this season has simply been out of this world for him and his players. Neil Lennon is of the view that last weekend’s game versus Nottingham Forest

Published / by index

The Bolton boss Neil Lennon is of the view that last weekend’s game versus Nottingham Forest should have gone in the favour of his boys as they were on top for almost the entire duration.

According to Lennon, David Vaughan’s opener which took Forest 1-0 up was just a piece of wonder and barring that, it was all Bolton’s game.

Post the game, the press quoted Lennon as saying, “Sometimes, you come across individual brilliances and today I think that was the case, but, to respond in that manner and to level it up at the end, it was just brilliant.”

“If you ask me, I would say we dominated the game and had we been slightly lucky, we would have added three points to our tally. We kept them in check all through. Barring a couple of counter attacks, they couldn’t do anything much.”

“You would like to give some credit to them as well for hanging in there, but, from our point of view, with the effort that we put in today, a win would have been more fitting for us.”

“Watching the game from the sidelines, it was hard to tell it’s the team which is 23 at the moment.” Continue reading

Neil Lennon says that the players should improve their fitness substantially

Published / by index

Bolton boss Neil Lennon says that the players should improve their fitness substantially if they are to retain their place in the squad for next season.

The club finished just outside the relegation spots in the 18th place in a very disappointing campaign. Lennon will be leading his players ahead of the final game against Birmingham. It has been highly speculated that his future at the club is under doubt following a disappointing end to the season. Bolton have managed only one win in the last two months. Yet, they have been able to survive as a result of the points taken in the first half of the campaign.

Lennon was appointed midway through the season and the former Celtic boss was hoping to make a huge impact at the club. After having been a serial winner with the Scottish club, Lennon would have been able to easily inspire the players. This, however, has not happened since Lennon has been struggling to get any form of consistency into the Bolton team. A 3-0 defeat against table leaders Bournemouth once again confirmed the decline. If the club are going to challenge for the title next season, it will take a lot of improvement in terms of the squad and its fitness levels according to the manager. Continue reading

Pele is considered to be one of the greatest players

Published / by index

Pele is considered to be one of the greatest players to ever grace a football pitch as the retired footballer managed to reach a number of outstanding feats during his playing career including winning the FIFA World Cup in 3 different occasions as well as scoring over 600 goals for his former club Santos.

However, there is something that Pele has always seemed to struggle with and that’s in relation to his predictions as the Brazilian never seems to get his football predictions correctly.

Back in 1998, Pele said that he believed Spain would win the 1998 World Cup in France but the Spanish squad was knocked out in the first round after suffering a surprising defeat against Nigeria and drawing with Paraguay.

Fast-forward a few years and Pele went on saying that Argentina and France would both reach the finals of the 2002 World Cup and it didn’t happen as both countries were knocked out in the first round.

One of the latest predictions that Pele announced is that an African nation would win the World Cup before the year 2000 but it hasn’t happened and it’s already 2015.

The main reason that is believed on to why any African nation has been able to even reach the semi-finals of any World Cup is not because of the lack of talent that the country has but instead it’s being pointed towards the amount of corruption, incompetence and indifference that many African governments are being run.

There have been occasions on which players from African nations have been left stranded in airports for over 8 hours, while others have lost their equipment. During long 10 hour trips by plane, some players travel on the business class while others are moved to other sections. Continue reading
